The 2022 National Couch Athlete League season is almost upon us. I hope your offseason was a good balance of rest and preparation for this upcoming season. It's going to be tough to dethrone the reigning champion (yours truly), but maybe one of you degenerates finally has what it takes to be a worthy adversary. I doubt it, but I guess other greats like Tom Brady, Alabama, or Lewis Hamilton have had their off-days. We shall see.

Also, take a moment to refresh yourself on the league structure as shown below:

League Name: National Couch Athlete League
Current Champ: I Touchdown There (Amedalhi)
Teams: 10
Entry Fee: $50
Pot: $500
Pay Out: 1st place $400 and 2nd place $100
Fantasy Client: ESPN
Basic Rules: Standard ESPN 1 PPR, Free Agent Auction ($100)
Playoffs:

  • 14 regular season games
  • Top 5 teams make it to the playoffs starting in Week 15
  • Seeding tiebreaker: Points-for

RULE CHANGE: I will be setting the bench size back down to 6. It was initially increased to 7 to help with the 'VID, but now that it no longer exists, we can reduce the size of the bench in order to liven up the waiver.

If any of you have any suggestions on rule changes, send me an email, and if it works for the league we can always put it up for a vote.

Last but not least, I'd like to introduce the newest member of our league, Tyler Davis. He will be replacing Super Steelers Avina (Mike), sooo from one awful manager to another, so don't worry about competition from him. Someone has to be last, right? Here's a little bit about him: He's #TeamEdward because he thinks Jacob's muscles are icky (his words, not mine), one time ate 30 Werthers Originals in one sitting, is a food scientist, looks just like Brad Pitt (if you squint a little and have an abscess in both eyes), and has a thing for elbows (who am I to judge?). Again, this is all true, I didn't make any of it up.

Looking forward to a great season and being $400 richer by the end of it.

Yours truly,
Commish Amedalhi
