What an exciting round of the playoffs we had this past week (well, I’m sure there are two team managers that would disagree with me). Both semi-final games came down to the wire and have now solidified the championship matchup for this coming weekend.

Game of the Week

I think it’s fair to say both semi final games were worthy of recognition. Let’s go over both.

In the top seed bracket we saw #1 One Man Wolfpack (Bert) lose to #4 Raider Nation (Jose) thanks to an OT game in Arizona. Bert went in with a narrow margin over Jose, in no thanks to Nick Folk who put up a goose egg. However, with seconds to go in the game, he still maintained a narrow lead due to the fact that Mike Evans had not contributed at all for Jose. But the fantasy gods said, no sir Bert, this game is going to OT. Mike Evans will get his redemption and scored a measly 5.9 points, but that was enough to knock out our regular season #1.

Final Score: One Man Wolf Pack (111.16) to (114.8) Raider Nation

On the other side of the bracket we had #2 Thee Captain Raider (Frank) lose to #3 Challenge Me (Mark) in a low scoring matchup. It was low scoring but also absolutely bananas. Going into Monday night Mark had a 14 point lead over Frank, but only had the Chargers defense to play. Frank on the other hand had both Justin Herbert and Austin Ekeler. Combined, both of those offensive players averaged roughly 38 points per game, the Chargers defense less than 5. Should be an easy-peasy, signed, sealed and delivered win for Frank, no? Nope, Despite Ekeler’s 24 point game, Herbert only managed to put up a SEASON LOW 5.5 points. Meanwhile, the Chargers defense put up a SEASON HIGH 20 points giving Mark the hail mary win over our annual “always a bridesmaid, never a bride”. Will Frank ever win a title? Not this year.

Final Score: Challenge Me  (100.86) to (95.8) Thee Captain Raider

Ouch of the Week

Okay, I just absolutely love this storyline. You remember how I mentioned last week that if Tyler would have made the playoffs, he’d be in the semis (after narrowly missing the playoffs due to a few PF)? Well, he was the highest scorer once again this week, which means he’d be in the championship match this coming week. Now I’m rooting for him to be the highest scorer once again, just for the schadenfreude. EVERY POINT MATTERS.

  • All you MFERS that haven’t sent in a picture for the website. Actually, who thinks Jose should be disqualified from winning since he hasn’t thrown up a picture?!
