That’s it folks. Championship was decided and the final standings solidified. Pour yourself a beer, open up that bag of kettle cooked jalapeño chips and enjoy the final issue of Couch News this NCAL season.

Championship Game

It turned out to be a close game between Jose and Frank Jr., with points left on the bench for both teams that could have turned the tide in the final score. However, after it was all said and done, Jose has done it again, this season on the back of Isiah Pacheco’s 30-point game. Frank Jr. was let down by his RB duo and could have won the game if he had started Najee (trash lol). Jose has now won three NCAL championships, putting him easily in the non-existent NCAL Hall of Fame. Please join me in congratulating your 2023 Champion and now overlord, Jose.

Final Score: Raider Nation (Jose) 116.8 to 107.92 (Frank Jr) Thee FrankTheTank

Dynasty Rankings

The updated rankings are now reflected on the Team page of the website. You can see your dynasty points by looking at the back of your card. As a reminder, the cards are ordered by dynasty rank, and there was a slight reshuffling of the pack. Most importantly, Quang has FINALLY moved up a spot in the rankings, overtaking a player who only played for two seasons. Congratulations, Quang! It was becoming embarrassing to see that.

Jose has also received another championship badge. If someone else doesn’t step it up next year, he will probably end up running out of space on his team card. Please, someone stop him.

End of Season

The 5th season of the National Couch Athletes League is now in the books. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did but it’s never too early to start thinking about next year. I definitely want to try things out to spice up the league. Maybe some rule changes, maybe some punishments for being trash, maybe more haikus, or at a minimum, simply bump up the entry fee to keep up with inflation. We have about eight months to think about it so if you have any good ideas, let me know. In the meantime, enjoy what’s left of the NFL season and hope you guys have a great 2024. Hugs.
